What this solution does
This module enables automatic conversion of DOCX documents to PDF within business process workflows. The activity is designed exclusively for use in the Business Process Designer and requires it to function.
Before starting, upload the DOCX file to the portal and record its ID or path. After installation, a new activity named 'Document Conversion [mcart]' appears in the Business Process Designer under the 'Document Processing' tab.
Add the activity to the workflow and configure the following parameters:
1. Title — the name of the action within the process.
2. Template path or document ID — specify the full path to the .docx file from the disk root (e.g., /upload/Document.docx) including the mandatory .docx extension, or enter the ID of the uploaded file. If the file extension differs from DOCX, the activity will terminate with an error message.
3. Output file path and name — specify the name of the resulting file with the .pdf extension.
4) Destination for the uploaded file
After converting a Word document to PDF, the system offers four options for saving the result:
1. User disk. Select the target user from the organizational structure in the 'User' field or provide their ID via a variable.
2. Social network group disk. Select the group from the list in the 'Group' field or specify its ID via a variable.
3. Shared disk. Choose a specific folder from the 'Disk' field or define its ID using a variable.
4. Disk folder. Click the 'Select folder' link next to the 'Folder' field to specify the exact directory.
When the business process containing this module is executed, the converted file will be generated and saved to the specified location.
Note: This module requires LibreOffice to be installed on the server. If LibreOffice is missing, the logs will display the error: "LibreOffice did not convert, check its working capacity".
