What this solution does
5 CORNERS. Menu Management
The default left-hand menu in Bitrix24 is identical for all users: it features a fixed set of items, a static order, and standard system icons. This uniformity creates usability issues: accountants see irrelevant sections, sales staff cannot locate necessary tools, and new employees get lost in the general list. The native platform lacks centralized menu configuration settings for administrators; every user rearranges items individually, and administrators cannot control these changes.
The 5 CORNERS. Menu Management module transfers control of the left menu to the portal administrator. Through the admin panel, administrators can assign clear icons to menu items, highlight important sections with borders, group elements into collapsible folders, and distribute personalized item sets to employees, departments, and workgroups. It is also possible to prohibit users from modifying the menu on their own.
No portal template editing or manual code integration is required. After installation, a new section appears in the admin panel, and the functionality is ready to use immediately.
FEATURES
— Custom icons for any menu item. Images can be uploaded as files, provided via a URL, or selected from the built-in Material Design library, which includes over 7,000 searchable icons. No graphic designer is needed.
Two rendering modes are available: a silhouette matching the portal theme color, visually indistinguishable from native icons, and a full-color mode. Scaling and offset parameters allow external images to align precisely within the menu row.
Important menu items can be highlighted with a border of specified thickness, style, and color. The highlight is drawn on top of the item without displacing other menu elements.
Users can create custom collapsible sections in the left menu, similar to standard folders like 'Collaboration' and 'Applications', but with custom names and icons. An administrator creates and populates the folder, after which employees can move it within their interface as needed.
Personalized menus can be configured for individual employees, departments, or workgroups. Unnecessary items are hidden, and the order is adjusted via drag-and-drop. Custom folders and links, including those to resources not present in the portal menu, can be added. A specific setting allows locking the menu to prevent employees from modifying it. A default 'Main Menu' is provided for users who have not been assigned a personalized menu.
Each feature is controlled by an independent toggle switch. When disabled, the feature is hidden from employees, but its settings are preserved, allowing for pre-prepared configurations to be activated when needed.
The 5 Corners Menu Management module is ready for use.
