What this solution does
Public order tracking page
A customer opens an order via a link with a unique key without logging into a personal account. The page displays the current stage, recent events, the expected delivery date, and a tracking number with a link to the carrier's website. The order composition is shown by default; the display of the total amount and delivery address is configured separately by the store.
Stages and events
The scale shows five stages: accepted, assembling, in transit, waiting at pickup point, received. The cancelled status is displayed separately. The mapping between store statuses and tracking stages is set in settings. When the order status is saved or changed, the system re-reads the order but does not modify the statuses or shipment data itself.
A manager can add an event with a description. Public records are visible to the customer, while internal headers and comments remain in the administrative card. Adding an event changes the tracking stage and the expected date; subsequent updates from the order re-verify the stage against the store status. The page displays the last 200 events in chronological order.
Tracking number and carrier
Public Tracking Page
The automatic tracking number is retrieved from shipment data or a configured order property. The carrier is determined automatically based on the current delivery name. The system supports link templates for CDEK, Russian Post, Boxberry, DPD, PickPoint, and 5Post. Users can define custom link templates.
The tracking mode becomes manual only when a manager explicitly changes the corresponding value in the order card. If the field remains unchanged, the automatic mode is preserved. Manual values are not overwritten during order updates. Clearing the field restores the automatic mode upon the next update. The automatic tracking number synchronizes with the order, including cases where the number is deleted. For legacy links with an unknown source, the tracking number is retained even when the order number is empty, until the order number appears.
Search without a link
The form allows searching for an order by order number, phone number, or email address. Contact verification is performed using order data; if contact properties are missing, the search uses the buyer's profile. The number of attempts from a single IP address is limited within a 15-minute window. After contact confirmation, an expired link receives a new key, while the old key becomes invalid.
Store report
The Public Tracking Page module generates a report displaying the number of links and page views, order processing stages, search results, the list of most visited pages, and orders that have remained inactive for a configured period. Order list filtering respects employee access rights. General statistics are available only to users with full store access (role sale W). Data collection is based on requests to the tracking page and usage of the search form.
The link validity period is set in module parameters; a value of zero indicates an unlimited link. The access key can be changed directly in the order card. The holder of a valid link sees only the data permitted by store settings, so the link should be provided to the customer as access to their order.
Event history and search attempts are stored for the duration specified in general settings: by default 365 days, with a minimum allowed duration of 30 days. The last event of an incomplete order is retained even after this period expires. In the attempt log, a hash using the site salt is recorded instead of the visitor's actual IP address.
The solution uses data from the store and links to carrier websites; it does not query shipment statuses directly from the carrier. MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL databases are supported. The Internet Store (sale) module is required for this module to function.
General iT can connect “Public tracking page”, install and configure the module, and make sure the integration works correctly.
