What this solution does
Product selection by model and year
The Compatibility Selection module adds a product selection form and a compatibility block to the product card on the website. Buyers select parameters such as car make, model, and generation, or printer manufacturer and model. Administrators configure one to four levels of the hierarchical tree and their names, and optionally enable year selection.
The system displays products based on relationships created by staff or imported from files. The solution does not contain its own database of vehicles or equipment and does not guarantee physical part compatibility; the store verifies data accuracy. The module does not modify order structures or automatically filter the main catalog; it uses solution components that must be deployed on the site for display.
Four compatibility types
E — exact fit; A — analog; M — fits with modification or caveat; N — does not fit. Relationships are defined at various tree levels. A restriction on the selected node or its parent excludes the product for that selection. Year ranges in a relationship limit applicability; if not specified, the node's years are used. Notes allow specifying additional requirements, such as the need for an adapter.
In the product card, the component displays a compatibility list and the result for the model selected by the buyer. When the save feature is enabled, the selection is stored in the browser cookie, providing access to recent models. A link to the compatibility page can be shared.
CSV RELATIONSHIP IMPORT
The file is recognized by headers: products are identified by ID or article number, and models by code paths. UTF-8 and Windows-1251 encodings are supported. Delimiters include semicolons, commas, and tabs. Multiline notes are preserved correctly if the field is enclosed in quotes. The maximum file size is 8 MiB, with a processing limit of 50,000 records.
Missing nodes are created within the configured depth. Re-importing updates existing relationships. The replace mode removes only the relationships for products listed in the processed rows, leaving the rest of the catalog intact. After import, verify the count of added, updated, and skipped rows, and review any error messages.
REQUEST REPORT
The Compatibility Selection module maintains a log of completed selections, recording the number of found items and the specified year if provided. Repeated requests from the same visitor and frequent queries for a single model are rate-limited, so the log does not count every individual view. The report displays popular models, queries with no results, daily demand trends, and disconnected branches. A background agent removes old records based on the retention period defined in settings and clears links to deleted items.
REQUIREMENTS
The main module version 20.0.0 or newer, the Information Blocks module, and PHP 8.2 or newer are required. MySQL and PostgreSQL databases are supported in configurations compatible with the installed 1C-Bitrix version. All data and settings are stored on the site.
If “Compatibility Selection” is required, General iT can help with installation, configuration and a technical check after integration.
