What this solution does
The 'Time Off' business process enables users to submit requests for various types of workplace absence, including personal days, business trips, remote work, sick leave, and others. Users specify the start and end dates of the absence. Each request is approved by the employee's direct supervisor and subsequently by higher-level management. Once the entire approval chain confirms the request, the user receives a notification of approval, and colleagues can view this information in the Live Feed. The employee's profile displays a block containing a list of their absences. This solution simplifies absence statistics management for supervisors and ensures timely notification of colleagues regarding an employee's unavailability.
The 'Time Off' business process handles absence requests based on the applicant's position. If a director creates a request, it is automatically approved and closed. Requests from other employees are sent to their direct supervisor. Once approved at the current level, the request moves up the hierarchy until it reaches the director. Any supervisor in the approval chain can reject the request.
When the director approves the absence, the system records the absence time in the employee's portal profile, sends an email notification to colleagues using the address configured in settings, and publishes a news item in the Live Feed.
Important: Do not launch this business process directly from the Live Feed. In this scenario, the system will not prompt for required parameters—start date, end date, and reason for absence—causing the process to fail.
