What this solution does
The module "Geo: Categories and Search for Lists and Business Processes" is designed for Bitrix24 users actively working with Lists and Business Processes. When the number of these items exceeds 10–20, common issues arise: long names do not fit into cells, there is no search functionality, and no built-in way to categorize them exists.
The solution implements three key features. First, names are displayed across three lines instead of one; if more space is needed, the full name appears in a tooltip on hover. Second, a search field has been added, allowing users to find items by the full name or any part of it. Third, users can now group Lists and Business Processes into categories, with the ability to assign a single item to multiple categories simultaneously.
The module enables the creation of unlimited nested categories to structure lists and business processes. For example, a hierarchy can be built as: Documents → Accounting → For employees or For former employees. Setting up a new category and linking it to items takes no more than three minutes.
Features include displaying full names of lists and business processes with a tooltip showing the complete name on hover. A search mechanism is added that works by keywords, partial names, or full phrases from the List Name and Business Process Name fields in the settings. A search field appears above the list immediately after installation.
Category management and filtering are performed by the portal administrator via the Administrative Panel.
The module adds a search and filtering mechanism by categories for lists, group lists, and business processes. When new categories are created, a dropdown with available options appears next to the search field. Selecting a category instantly filters the displayed items, showing only those associated with the chosen category.
Any number of lists and business processes can be linked to a single category. Conversely, a single list or business process can be associated with multiple categories simultaneously. Connection settings are configured within the parameters of the specific list or business process.
The system supports subcategories with unlimited nesting depth. The Reset button restores the full list of items by removing all applied filters.
Styles updated by the module apply to standard lists, group lists, and business processes. Text in long titles wraps correctly by word.
