Geo: User Group "Department Heads"

What this solution does

Large organizations often face the challenge of determining who should have the right to create groups and projects to prevent the accumulation of numerous empty or irrelevant sections. It is recommended to grant these rights to department heads. However, in the standard Bitrix24 platform, this process cannot be automated, requiring portal administrators to manually update the user group each time.

This module eliminates the need for manual management, saving time for both administrators and staff on processing requests and updating lists. It automatically synchronizes the group with the visual organizational structure on the portal. As soon as an employee assumes a department head position, they automatically receive the right to create groups. Conversely, when an employee leaves a leadership role, the right to create new groups is automatically revoked.

The 'Geo: Department Heads User Group' module automatically creates a new user group in the portal's administrative panel without affecting existing user groups or their settings.

Installation requires no additional configuration. The group is dynamic: employees are automatically added upon promotion to a department head position and removed upon demotion. All current department heads are included in this group.

The created group can be used to configure access rights to lists, business processes, and other portal resources. If rights to create work groups need to be granted to users beyond department heads, simply add them to the standard pre-installed group 'Can create work groups'.

Changing an employee's level is available in the public portal section (Employees — Company Structure) and in the administrative panel (Content — Org Structure — Departments).

The 'Department Heads' group is synchronized with Bitrix24 data. Attempting to remove a department head from this group via the administrative panel will be automatically canceled, as the user retains their head status in the system. Similarly, adding a user to the group who is not a department head in Bitrix24 will result in their automatic removal from the group.

The 'Department Heads' group uses standard access and security settings.
