What this solution does
The module simplifies collaboration for development teams using GitLab for source code storage, building, and deployment via GitLab CI, while managing changes according to the GitLab Flow model. Task intake and interaction with other company employees occur within Bitrix24.
The module enables tracking of time spent on code reviews. Reviewers manually enable time tracking within automatically created tasks, providing visibility into the time required for reviewing tasks across different projects.
The tool assists reviewers in planning their workload. Each Merge Request opened in Bitrix24 generates a task where tags, priority, and estimated duration can be assigned. This allows reviewers to monitor the quantity and volume of their assigned tasks.
The system supports team planning for team leads. By analyzing the ratio of time spent on development, code review, and fixing errors identified during review, teams can more accurately assess their capacity for task volume.
This module synchronizes task statuses between GitLab and Bitrix24, keeping managers and employees informed about the progress of assigned tasks. Whenever a Merge Request (MR) is created, reassigned, accepted, tested, or deployed to production in GitLab, a corresponding comment with event details is automatically added to the related Bitrix24 task.
The tool aids in monitoring task deadlines. When a review task is created, the reviewer sees the same deadline as the assignee, enabling proper prioritization and preventing scenarios where work is completed on time but becomes overdue due to a prolonged review process.
Features:
1. Automatic task creation for reviewers. Whenever a reviewer is assigned to an MR in GitLab, a task to accept that MR is automatically generated in Bitrix24. The reviewer can tag the task, add it to their daily plan, and navigate to the original developer task or the MR link.
2. Logging GitLab events in Bitrix24 tasks. Any significant action in GitLab is recorded as a comment in the associated task.
The module tracks the creation and closure of merge requests (MR), as well as reviewer actions to accept or reject them. Requests from GitLab are automatically forwarded to the Bitrix24 event system.
The built-in mechanism allows adding custom handlers for incoming GitLab webhooks. This enables extending integration functionality through a simple interface without needing to understand request authorization details or message formats.
A chat bot for notifications regarding significant GitLab events is currently in development. It will alert developers to important changes, allowing them to respond promptly without relying on email.
The module is compatible with all boxed editions of Bitrix24.
Supported GitLab versions: GitLab.com, GitLab CE 9.0 and above, GitLab EE 9.0 and above.
