Product Subscription: Stock Notification - Extended Capabilities

What this solution does

The module extends the functionality of subscriptions for out-of-stock items. Customers can specify the required quantity of the unavailable product. Store administrators gain tools to analyze demand for out-of-stock items, determine procurement priorities and volumes, and monitor the success rate of notifications regarding product availability.

Automated notifications to subscribers about product availability are sent via a background agent with a configurable check interval.

The system supports configuration for storing and automatically cleaning subscription records, including those with successful and failed statuses.

Users can filter the product list by the number of subscribers and the total expected demand volume.

The module allows manual sending of selected notifications and tracking of their delivery status.

Customization of the subscription form modal window appearance via CSS is supported, along with CAPTCHA integration.

Custom email notification templates can be created based on standard templates using variables.

Buttons to open the subscription form modal window are displayed on the product detail page and within the product list section.

The subscription form for product availability notifications is added to the site by inserting a specific code snippet into the template files. Since site templates are unique, installation may require technical expertise. If difficulties arise, contact technical support.

The main module component code must be placed in the template file immediately before the closing body tag. The code example includes checking for the profistudio.followstock module via the Bitrix Loader, followed by invoking the profistudio:followstock.form component with the .default template. Component parameters include the form ID profistudio-followstock-form-1, spam protection via captcha, jQuery inclusion disabled, display priority set to 1500, button and field labels (such as Subscribe, Cancel, Your email, Required quantity), and composite frame mode settings.

The code includes text parameters that can be customized at your discretion, such as the form title, field names, and button labels.

If jQuery is not connected to the site, change the INCLUDE_JQUERY parameter value from N to Y. To verify jQuery status, open the browser console (press F12, select the Console tab), paste the command if(jQuery) alert('jQuery connected!'), and press Enter. If jQuery is not detected, no alert will appear.

To disable CAPTCHA verification, change the NO_SPAM parameter value from captcha to an empty string.

Next, you must place the buttons that trigger the subscription form. The following examples cover integration for the standard Bitrix online store template and the Aspro: Maximum template.

Connecting the button on a standard Bitrix site

The subscription button on a product detail page is added in the user (non-system) template of the bitrix:catalog.element component. In the component template file template.php, insert the button code at the desired location.

The profistudio.followstock module by Profi extends product availability subscription functionality. Operation requires loading the module via the standard Bitrix loading mechanism.

On the product detail page, the subscription button is connected using the profistudio:followstock.button component. During initialization, identifiers for the button, form, and product are set, along with container classes. Icons can be hidden.

To correctly update the product identifier when switching variants, the changeInfo function in the component template script.js file must be modified. Inside the index check condition, before the closing curly brace, add a call to the profistudioFollowstockSubscribeButtonSetProductId function. This call passes the button identifier and the current variant product ID from the offers array.

Connecting the subscription button on the product list page of a section is performed in a user-defined (non-system) template of the bitrix:catalog.item component. In the card/template.php file of the selected template, place the module connection code at the desired location.

The product subscription module by Profi extends the functionality of out-of-stock notifications. To ensure proper operation on product detail pages, the profistudio:followstock.button component must be invoked with parameters defining the button identifier, the subscription form identifier, and the current product or SKU identifier. In the component template script file, add an event handler for onAsproSkuSetPrice. This code checks for the existence of the initialization function and, upon price changes or SKU selection, automatically updates the product identifier in the subscription button using data from the event.

The product availability subscription module by developer Profi offers extended capabilities for tracking product availability. Integration of the subscription button is performed in a user template of the bitrix:catalog.section component, such as the catalog_block template, rather than in system files. To connect the functionality, code to call the profistudio:followstock.button component must be added to the template.php file of the component template inside the loop processing $arResult["ITEMS"]. Parameters include the button identifier, form identifier, product identifier accounting for the current SKU, and classes for the container and button. Module inclusion is verified via the Loader::includeModule method. The script.js file of the component template requires adding code to handle the onAsproSkuSetPrice event, which updates the product identifier when SKU characteristics change. The script checks for the existence of the profistudioFollowstockSubscribeButtonSetProductId function and validates the product object before executing actions.

The module extends product subscription functionality by adding notifications for when items come back in stock. The script searches the page for a subscription button with the attribute data-name="profistudio-followstock-subscribe-btn". If the button is found and has an identifier, the script links it to a specific product offer by passing its ID. After the code is correctly installed, the buttons must be visible on the page. Clicking a button opens a modal window containing the subscription form.

Troubleshooting

If buttons do not display or the form fails to open, verify that the subscription form is enabled in the module settings. Ensure there are no CSS conflicts between the module elements and your site template. If issues persist, contact technical support and provide the page address where the buttons are placed.

Managing Subscriptions

The subscription list is located in the Administration section: Content — Product Subscription: Availability Notification — Waiting List.

For each subscription, a list of users comprising that subscription is available.

Data in tables can be filtered according to user preferences. For notifications that have not yet been sent (for instance, when the agent activation period has not yet started or a previous attempt failed), a Send button is available. Clicking this button sends notifications to all subscribers or to specific users selected from the user table.

The email template used for product availability notifications is located in the standard Bitrix section: Administration — Settings — Product Settings — Mail and SMS Events — Mail Templates. The template type is identified as PROFISTUDIO_FOLLOWSTOCK_PRODUCT_SUBSCRIBE Product Availability Notification.

Below the template editor, a list of available fields for use in the template is displayed. This list will be expanded as needed in future module updates.
