What this solution does
The module determines a user's geographic location by IP address when filling out CRM forms and within business processes.
When any CRM form is submitted—including contact forms for open lines, feedback forms, or standard contact forms—the system automatically extracts the visitor's IP address. Based on this address, location data is calculated and immediately saved to the related CRM entity: lead, contact, company, or deal.
If the geolocation handler in the Bitrix environment is configured correctly, the functionality for writing address data to CRM entities works immediately after installation without additional setup. Users can additionally configure which specific CRM fields should store the IP address, country, region, district, or city.
The module also adds an activity named 'Determine Location by IP Address' to the business process designer. This tool allows retrieving extended geolocation data for CRM entities that already contain an IP address from sources other than form submissions.
The following parameters can be determined by IP address:
Country
Region
District
City
Postal code
The module determines the user's location based on the IP address and automatically populates fields in the client card. The system extracts the country code, region code, district code, as well as geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). Additional information includes the UTC time zone. The complete set of transmitted data depends on the selected geolocation processor.
