The FIX PHPSESSID module by WebMixer resolves duplication of the PHPSESSID variable in browser cookies when a site operates on the www subdomain. This issue occurs when the main domain utilizes the www subdomain. The module compares the cookie variable value with the current session identifier. Upon detecting a mismatch, it sends a header to the browser instructing it to clear the PHPSESSID variable and reinitialize the session.
