The 'Live Viewers' module for 1C-Bitrix displays the number of visitors currently viewing the same product or page. Key features include separate activity counting for products, information blocks, and the entire site. The system operates correctly in multi-site configurations and tracks unique users, preventing artificial inflation of the counter when multiple tabs are opened. User session duration and counter update frequency are configurable. Light, dark, and accent themes are available.
The module allows flexible widget configuration: position, size, shape, shadow, indicator, and animation. Colors, titles, and text are configurable using templates. The widget automatically hides when view counts are zero or low. The display is adapted for mobile devices. The module is compatible with the composite mode of 1C-Bitrix. The counter starts only after obtaining user consent for cookies.
The administrative panel provides a summary of active products and pages with filters and details. Summary and detail data can be exported to CSV. Built-in diagnostics track operational statistics and automatically clean up obsolete records.
Privacy and Security
For anonymous visitors, the module stores a secure HMAC hash instead of the PHP session identifier. AJAX request parameters are signed using 1C-Bitrix tools. If required, the counter starts only after obtaining cookie consent, and the anonymous identifier can be removed via the mechanism provided by the module.
Performance
The 'Live Viewers' module ensures high performance through short-term caching, write rate limiting, and optimized database indexes. Expired records are removed by a background agent in small batches, making the module suitable for sites with large product catalogs and high visitor traffic.
