Barcodes and label printing

What this solution does

The module generates barcodes in formats EAN-13, EAN-8, ITF-14, Code 128, as well as QR codes and Data Matrix. Functionality includes label creation and printing, along with two-way synchronization of codes with the product catalog in 1C-Bitrix. The tool combines code generation, catalog management, and print preparation: users select products, configure templates, and print labels directly from the browser or save them as PDF files. The solution is designed for online stores, retail outlets, and warehouses. Product name, price, article number, and properties are automatically populated on labels. Built-in layouts and an editor allow formatting adjustments to match the media size. Synchronization links the 'Barcode' property with catalog codes. Generation occurs on the website server without external barcode services. Operational features include actions in the product list and a print journal, while a component is provided for integration into pages and documents. The system supports generating individual codes and batches. Users can create images for a single value or prepare a set of codes for printing. Settings are available for type, scale, height, color, background, and caption.

The module assigns barcodes of standards EAN-13, EAN-8, ITF-14, and Code 128 to products based on a defined mask. It supports prefixes and sequential numbering according to the selected format. Existing codes remain unchanged by default.

Functionality is available in the standard catalog: you can assign codes and print labels for selected items from the list. The system works with a standard catalog as well as mixed lists containing both items and sections.

Bidirectional synchronization is implemented for the 'Barcode' property linked to catalog codes. Changes are reflected in both directions when synchronization is enabled. The module supports single and multiple properties, as well as individual codes for products and offers.

A preview of the barcode image is available in the product card next to the input field. Upon saving, the system validates whether the entered value can be represented by the selected barcode type.

The built-in label template editor allows setting dimensions in millimeters, margins, content, and line order. Settings include font size, text alignment, and barcode height. Users can utilize ready-made layouts or create custom ones.

The module generates labels with automatic catalog data substitution, including product name, price, article number, barcode, its text value, selected properties, and custom text. It supports printing on various media by creating label sheets or pages sized to fit individual labels. Users select paper format, copy count, and the number of cells to skip on partially used sheets. Prepared labels are exported to PDF for transfer and subsequent printing; an individual product price tag in PDF can be saved to a selected file property. Both vector SVG images for scaling and printing and raster PNG images for systems requiring raster graphics are available. The module includes built-in images, file saving, and signed links. A journal of created series stores previously generated labels with saved codes, templates, and formatting. When reprinting, the name, price, and other details are read from the current catalog. Supported formats: Code 128, GS1-128, EAN-13 / UPC-A, EAN-8, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, ITF-14, QR Code, DataMatrix, and GS1 DataMatrix.

The module supports generating barcode images in SVG and PNG formats. Product labels can be printed directly from the browser or exported as a PDF file.

Barcode Configuration

Products can be automatically assigned codes in formats EAN-13, EAN-8, ITF-14, or Code 128 based on a defined pattern. Existing codes are preserved by default; the overwrite function is enabled separately.

The standard catalog list includes the actions Assign Barcodes and Print Labels. After selecting the required products and executing the action, printing opens in a new tab, while the assignment status is displayed within the module interface.

Layout Configuration

Label dimensions are set in millimeters. Users define the display order of elements: product name, price, SKU, the barcode itself, its text representation, product properties, and custom text. Text lines allow configuration of font size and alignment, while the barcode height is adjustable.

The module includes ready-made layouts. Settings are available for page format, number of copies, and skipping unused cells on the sheet.

Print History

Generated label series save the selected template and formatting for reuse. When regenerating, current data such as the product name and price are read from the active catalog.

Catalog Synchronization

The 'Barcode' property type provides preview and validation for entered values. It supports two-way synchronization: changes to the code in the catalog update the property, and saving the property updates the code in the catalog.
