What this solution does
The Dark Theme module by Global iT allows you to darken the standard 1C-Bitrix administrative panel without altering the layout of menus, tables, fields, tabs, or buttons. The visual change is implemented by modifying CSS styles. The built-in constructor script operates exclusively on the user's personal page, updating only its own preview.
Six ready-made color palettes are available:
Dark — a balanced palette with cool shades.
Black — nearly black surfaces with light text.
Intermediate — soft graphite for a less dark background.
Warm Dark — muted brown tones.
Dracula — purple surfaces and Dracula Classic accents.
GitHub Dark — a palette based on the official GitHub Primer Dark colors.
Users can revert to the standard light theme or inherit the administrator's selection. Personal settings are saved in the account and apply to subsequent logins, including from different devices. These changes affect only the current user and do not alter the preferences of other users. The personal settings page is accessible to all administrative panel users, including editors without administrator rights.
In the theme builder, select a ready-made base, enter a name, and configure 24 colors using a picker or HEX fields. A separate live preview with a main text contrast indicator is located nearby. The draft affects only this preview. You can reset fields to the saved palette, save it for later use, or save and activate it immediately. Each account stores one personal theme.
The saved palette can be exported to JSON and transferred to another site with the module installed. Unsaved form changes are not included in the export. If no personal theme exists, the file contains the current ready-made dark base. Import accepts JSON up to 16 KiB using the globalit.admindark.theme schema, version 1, containing a name and exactly 24 known colors in #RRGGBB format. Arbitrary CSS, JavaScript, additional fields, and file paths are not accepted. Import replaces only the personal palette of the current account; the uploaded file is not saved on the site.
The Dark Theme module allows administrators to select a default ready-made theme and control a global switch. Disabling the feature restores standard interface colors for all users while preserving individual users' personal color palette settings, which are not overwritten by the global theme. Upon first installation, a balanced dark theme is applied automatically.
Styling extends to standard administrative panel elements including menus, lists, forms, tabs, filters, dialog boxes, and the calendar. Images and content within text editors are not inverted. Public website pages and the user login page retain their original appearance.
The module is designed for the standard administrative interface. Pages from third-party modules, new UI components, and iframe elements may retain light areas. Before deployment, it is recommended to verify the display of pages and the functionality of operations on your site. The stated minimum version of the main module ensures the availability of required APIs; identical styling for all versions and external widgets is not guaranteed.
