Quick SEO Links

What this solution does

The 'Quick SEO Links' module places a set of links on any website page to improve internal linking. This functionality is particularly useful for online stores with many unique landing pages generated via smart filters. Placing these links helps increase indexing and drive more traffic between pages.

The link block is often styled as a tag cloud located under the header and before the main content, such as above a product list, although it does not consist of actual tags.

The module allows displaying link blocks in catalog sections and product pages, as well as on any other site pages. Multiple link blocks with different styles can be displayed simultaneously on a single page. Display settings are available, including the option to add custom CSS. Output conditions can be configured flexibly. The solution is compatible with any template and existing system. It supports adding custom properties with different content. A detailed help section is included within the module.

Quick Start Guide

The Quick SEO Links module enables the creation of blocks for internal linking between catalog sections or landing pages. For example, in the 'Dresses' category, such a block can be placed above the product list to facilitate navigation to other sections or filter pages. To create a new block, navigate in the admin panel to 'Content' → 'Quick SEO Links' → 'Quick Link Blocks' and click the 'New Quick Link Block' button.

On the settings page, enter a clear name for the SEO links block. This name is displayed only in the administrative panel. Specify the information block the module will work with, such as a clothing catalog. Then select the required section.

If the link block does not need to be tied to specific information block sections, these parameters can be omitted. In this case, the block will be displayed wherever it is installed.

On the 'Links' tab, SEO links are configured by specifying the anchor text, URL, and necessary tag attributes. Styles can be defined for each link immediately. When entering URLs, relative paths are recommended. To monitor link status and detect broken links over time, external monitoring tools such as Xenu can be used.

On the Additional Fields tab, supplementary information can be displayed alongside the block. For instance, you can set a title for the links block and add a description.

Figure 4 shows the result of completing the basic actions. The ready-made block can be saved and a copy created for the 'Pants' section. This way, two blocks of quick links will be generated for each section (see Figure 5).

To display the quick links component, its code is placed in the catalog component template. This approach facilitates the automatic passing of the current catalog section ID. Since the block must appear above the products, the component is installed at the top of the template with the required parameters.

In the Info Block ID field, specify the identifier of the info block to which the quick link blocks are attached. For the Section ID (or section code) parameter, enter the variable that holds the current section's ID or code. Leave the number of links field empty to display all links from the block. Select a display style, such as 'Blocks in a row', and save the component settings. Once applied, the quick link blocks will render correctly across different catalog sections.

Additional Conditions

The quick links block is displayed only when all component parameters match the conditions specified in the block. If multiple blocks share identical conditions, the one with the higher sort order takes priority.

The Settings tab includes fields for additional conditions. These allow multiple quick links block components to be rendered on the same page in different locations with distinct display settings. For this to work correctly, the values of these fields in the block settings must match the corresponding component parameters.

Without additional conditions to differentiate blocks, only a single quick SEO links block would be displayed, corresponding to the parameters and possessing the highest sort order.

User Properties

The quick links block supports adding arbitrary user-defined properties, including text, video, and images. To implement this, copy the system template of the profistudio:quicklinks.list component and modify the output using the $arResult array. This array contains data from the block's fields and properties. Performing such changes requires programming skills and is recommended only for qualified developers.
