IDETA: PHP Check for PHP2Shell Vulnerability
Check your site for vulnerability to the critical Remote Code Execution (RCE) flaws known as PHP2Shell in a single click. These vulnerabilities, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, were disclosed in October 2026 with a CVSS score of 9.2 (Critical). If the PHP version is vulnerable, an attacker can execute arbitrary code on the server without authorization.
The module provides a clear verdict in the admin panel indicating whether the PHP version is vulnerable. It also displays the PHP installation type (such as Apache mod_php or PHP-FPM) to highlight areas of higher risk. The tool shows the status of PHP version exposure (expose_php) and provides specific instructions on how to remediate the vulnerability.
The check is performed locally based on the PHP version running your site. The module does not send data externally, make requests to third-party servers, or execute exploits. It simply reads the version and compares it against official patch thresholds.
Safe versions include PHP 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27, 8.5.12, and newer. Branches PHP 8.1 and below are no longer supported and receive no official fixes. Vulnerability thresholds are verified against php.net and PHP Security Advisories from October 2026.
The IDETA module diagnoses the PHP2Shell vulnerability but does not remediate it. The vulnerability is resolved by updating the PHP version on the server. Website owners and administrators using 1C-Bitrix can use this tool to quickly assess risks without manually checking the server PHP version.
When needed, General iT can implement “IDETA: PHP Vulnerability Check for PHP2Shell”, configure the module and verify it against the current website setup.
