The module enables rapid creation of an administrative page for custom settings. The link to this settings page can be placed in any menu section, with both the link name and page title being configurable. Parameters can be organized using tabs.
Retrieving the value of any parameter does not require the module to be installed; simply use the standard method COption::GetOptionString("grain.customsettings", "Identifier").
Supported parameter types include: text, text area, checkbox, list, date/time, and binding (if the Universal Binding Properties module is present). Access rights are separated: permissions for changing setting values are distinct from permissions for adding or editing fields and tabs. Each field supports a configurable tooltip.
This module enables the rapid creation of an administrative interface for managing simple site parameters without programming. It allows administrators to toggle functionality, edit short text strings, dates, and other data used within the system. In such scenarios, using information blocks is excessive, while creating a dedicated module for each task is impractical.
Limitations
The maximum length for text field values is approximately 32,000 characters. This restriction applies only to the parameter values themselves, not to their names, descriptions, or tooltips.
How it works
The module provides an administrative interface for managing module parameters via the COption class, functioning similarly to the interface for information block properties. Values are stored as string parameters within the grain.customsettings module.
General iT can connect “Additional Settings”, configure it and verify the integration with the existing website.
