The askaron.sms module allows you to select an SMS sending service in the main module settings and test functionality without actual message delivery. The standard Bitrix 'Message Service' module (messageservice) must be installed for proper operation.
The module is primarily designed for debugging site functionality without real SMS transmission and for enabling SMS sending capabilities in 1C-Bitrix for legacy extensions that do not support this natively. The module itself does not send messages; instead, it acts as an intermediary utilizing the capabilities of other modules and provides an additional administrative interface.
With this module, you can:
- enable or disable SMS sending (important for test sites);
- log messages to a file;
- record sent and unsent SMS entries in the event log;
- specify a custom SMS sending function if one was previously used on the site;
- switch between third-party modules for SMS delivery.

SMS sending capability from custom code or modules:
The "Askaron SMS Sending Function" module provides a method for sending messages via the Askaron service. To use it, the module must be loaded via \Bitrix\Main\Loader::includeModule.
Example of the send method call:
\Askaron\Sms\Send::send( "79000000000", "Hello World!" );
The method returns true on successful delivery or false if an error occurs. Some third-party modules allow displaying an error text description after a failed SMS send.
This functionality is used in the "Free Space and Backup Control" module to send notifications when disk space is exhausted or when a backup process completes with an error.

Added the SMS sending method option
Now, within the module, it is possible to return a result indicating successful sending or an error without actually sending the SMS.
In the Main module settings, you can now select the askaron.sms module as the SMS sender module for built-in Bitrix SMS events (Password recovery via SMS, Phone number confirmation via SMS, and others).
Bug fixes. Syntax update.
Added the SMS sending method "SMSBiz - SMS for store or portal" (bizsolutions.sms). Added options "Log unsent SMS to the event log" and "Log sent SMS to the event log".
Added the AskaronSmsSend::getErrorText() method to retrieve the error text after a failed SMS sending attempt.
Now, the module's settings page is functional and convenient for developers.
Added options for managing SMS sending: "Send SMS" YES/NO, "Log SMS to debug log file" YES/NO, "Name of your own function for sending SMS".
