What this solution does
The QR-Code from QR-S module generates QR codes directly on your server for display on website pages and product cards. No registration, license keys, external requests, cookies, or telemetry are required for operation.
Use cases:
In retail, a code on a price tag or shelf opens a product card with reviews and stock information.
Manufacturers use codes on packaging or instructions to link to documentation.
In real estate and automotive sectors, a sign on an object directs users to a listing.
In restaurants, each dish or table has a unique code for accessing the menu.
In event promotion, a code on a poster opens the event page.
Functional capabilities:
Four data types are supported: URL, text, Wi-Fi credentials, and phone number. For Wi-Fi, the network name and security type are displayed below the code, while the password remains hidden.
Formats include SVG for professional printing and PNG. Configuration options cover code and background colors, sizes ranging from 128 to 2048 pixels, quiet zone width from 4 to 16 modules, and error correction levels L, M, Q, or H.
The wbooster:qrcode component is integrated into the visual editor. It allows encoding the current page, an information block element (such as a product from catalog.element), a section, or a custom address and text. Output is rendered as embedded SVG or an image. Users are provided with buttons to download files in PNG and SVG formats.
The module adds a property named QR-Code (QR-S) to the information block. After adding this property to the catalog, a code preview with download buttons appears in the admin panel for each product. On the public site, the QR code is displayed via the product link.
The Services -> QR-Code QR-S page in the admin panel provides a generator with preview, site-specific settings, and a support section.
By default, a small caption reading Created in QR-S appears below the code on the site. This caption can be disabled with a single checkbox in the settings at no cost. Downloaded files do not contain this caption.
In the upcoming version 1.1, dynamic codes via the API key of the QR-S.ru service will be supported. This will allow changing the link after printing and tracking code opens directly in the admin panel. Version 1.0 does not include this feature; the module operates entirely locally.
The module is free forever and does not collect personal data. The source code is open with no obfuscated parts.
Requirements:
PHP 8.2 or higher. The GD extension is required for PNG generation; without it, only SVG generation is available.
Tested on the 1C-Bitrix core version 26.250.100.
Supported editions require verification on clean editions.
The catalog and information blocks are required only for the property and sources named element and section.
For the current page mode, the site must have a domain (server URL) or a base URL specified in the module settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is registration required on QR-S.ru?
The QR-S QR Code module version 1.0 works without registration or keys. Without an API key, the module does not contact external servers or send data out. The "Created in QR-S" signature can be removed with a checkbox in the module settings for free. For professional printing, download SVG: it is a vector format that does not blur when enlarged. For price tags and packaging, set the error correction level to Q or H so the code remains readable even with wear. Before a print run, print a test sample and verify it with a phone. In version 1.0, you cannot change the link in an already printed code because the static code stores the link inside itself. Link changes after printing will appear in version 1.1 along with dynamic codes. To style the code for your site, copy the .default component template into your site template. The markup uses the classes .qrs-qrcode, .qrs-downloads, and .qrs-badge; there are no custom fonts or backgrounds.
When needed, General iT can implement “QR code from QR-S”, configure the module and verify it against the current website setup.
