Cost Calculation Module for 1C-Bitrix
This tool enables the calculation and control of actual product costs directly within the 1C-Bitrix platform interface. The solution accounts for more than just the purchase price, incorporating expenses for materials, labor, equipment usage, production operations, and electricity consumption.
The system is suitable for both trading companies reselling finished goods and enterprises with their own manufacturing facilities. Cost and profitability indicators are displayed in standard product lists and cards, eliminating the need to maintain separate spreadsheets or manually transfer data between systems.
The purchase price often does not reflect the true cost of a product. The final cost of goods sold also includes expenses for packaging, components and consumables, staff labor, equipment usage, production operations, and energy resources. The module aggregates all these components into a single model to determine the accurate final cost of each item.
The costing module supports flexible description of production processes. For self-manufactured goods, users can provide detailed specifications of the composition and manufacturing stages. For resale operations, it is sufficient to account only for essential components, such as the purchase price and packaging costs. Unnecessary sections can be omitted.
Initial setup is handled by a step-by-step wizard that prepares common data used across various costing models. The wizard covers the following parameters: costing units and material resources, labor roles and work time costs, equipment and usage costs, production operations and tasks, and electricity costs. Pre-filling all sections is not required; the system allows starting with a minimal data set and expanding reference books as needed.
An expert mode with advanced settings and extended reference books is available for experienced administrators. Material components are tracked using standard units of measurement, including pieces, kilograms, meters, square meters, liters, and other supported types.
The module automatically converts the purchase price of materials into the unit used for cost calculation, regardless of the supply form. For instance, the price of a sheet with known dimensions is converted to cost per square meter, fabric priced per linear meter is adjusted for width to calculate cost per square meter, rolls are converted to cost per unit area, packaging or boxes to cost per piece, containers to cost per volume, and weight-based packaging to cost per unit mass. Users do not need to manually create artificial units of measure or calculate conversion coefficients.
To calculate labor costs, clear job roles are defined, such as assembler, packer, machine operator, or foreman. A cost per hour is assigned to each role. In a product model, the specific role involved in an operation and the time required are specified. This allows the same role to be reused across different models without re-entering labor cost data.
The equipment directory supports adding machines, printers, ovens, packaging lines, and other devices that impact cost. For each piece of equipment, the cost per hour of operation and power can be tracked.
The system tracks the history of cost and power changes. Specific equipment and its actual operating time are added to the product model. If equipment power and electricity rates are specified, electricity costs are calculated automatically. Multiple units of equipment can be used within a single production operation.
Work and Production Operations
Production operations describe the specific actions performed during product manufacturing or preparation, such as cutting, drilling, painting, assembly, or packaging. For each operation, you can specify the work performed, the labor role, duration, equipment used, and its operating time. This approach allows for separate accounting of labor costs, equipment depreciation, and electricity expenses while maintaining a clear calculation structure.
Cost Models
A unique cost model can be created for each product type. The model defines basic parameters, material components and their quantities, production operations, labor requirements, equipment used, as well as related products and sales offers. A single model can be applied to multiple products if their cost calculation methodology is identical.
Once configuration is complete, the model version is locked and cannot be modified. To make changes, a new version must be created. The system retains all previous versions and calculation history, enabling users to track how costs have evolved over time.
The module integrates with standard product lists and cards in Bitrix. For each product, the interface displays the assigned cost model, calculated cost, current status, gross profit, margin, and markup. Models can be assigned directly from the product list or from an individual product card.
Trade offers are fully supported. Each product and each offer are calculated independently; the parent product's model is not automatically or silently applied to its offers. A single model can be assigned to multiple selected products at once if needed.
Product Profitability
If a selling price is defined in Bitrix, the module compares it with the calculated cost and displays key metrics:
Gross Profit: Selling price minus cost.
Margin: The proportion of gross profit in the selling price.
Markup.
Calculation of the ratio between gross profit and cost of goods sold using precise arithmetic. When the product price, model, or cost of goods sold changes, the system saves the history of profitability indicators. The product card includes a chart displaying the dynamics of price, cost of goods sold, gross profit, margin, and markup over time.
The module maintains a log of significant changes, including material costs, labor rates, equipment cost and capacity, electricity tariffs, model versions, calculated cost of goods sold, and profitability indicators. Previously published results are not overwritten retroactively. This allows users to apply current values for new calculations while preserving the history of previously obtained results.
Integration with 1C-Bitrix is performed via the standard administrative interface. The module utilizes native platform elements: lists and filters, product cards, product and model selection, administrative navigation, settings, and access control mechanisms. No separate external system is required to work with cost of goods sold calculations; the module operates autonomously.
The cost calculation module is a standalone solution. The presence of other 6sec platform modules is not a mandatory condition for calculating cost. If the 6sec core is installed, the module can transmit aggregated calculation status information to a general overview via a public integration interface. In the absence of the core, the module's main capabilities continue to function.
The module operates without hidden changes to products. It does not automatically alter selling prices, Bitrix purchase prices, product properties, or infoblock data. Assigning a cost model does not trigger hidden publication or modification of product data. The user retains full control over their data and actions.
