Scoder: Automatic section generation from property values

What this solution does

The 'Sections from Properties' module automatically generates information block sections based on element property values. It supports property types: string (S), list (L), directory (S:directory), element binding (E), and section binding (G).

This solution enables the creation of unique, SEO-friendly URLs. For instance, instead of a filter path like /catalog/#SECTION_CODE/filter/brand-adidas/, the module can generate structures such as /catalog/#SECTION_CODE/adidas/ or /catalog/adidas/. Because full information block sections are created, all standard section SEO tools are available by default.

The Scoder module automatically generates subsections within an information block based on its property values, such as brand, color, size, or new arrivals. To configure, select the desired property in the module settings and run re-indexing. If you continue working only with the selected properties, re-indexing is not required again; the process will proceed automatically. Re-indexing is needed only when new information block properties are added.

After installation and completion of re-indexing, the created subsections will appear in the left menu. For example, subsections can be organized by brand: for the 'Treadmills' category, subsections for Ammity, Adidas, and DFC are created, while for 'Elliptical Trainers', subsections for Ammity and DFC are generated. Similarly, structure can be organized by shoe sizes (35–43) or clothing styles (military, classic, sport, safari).

The main advantage is that the generated subsections function as full-fledged information block sections. This allows for clean URL generation and provides access to the complete set of SEO tools for each section.

The Scoder module automatically generates sections based on property values. Currently, SKU support is not available; created sections are placed in the information block associated with the relevant property. Development of the module continues.

During reindexing, products are linked to new sections created from property values while retaining their original section associations. This results in a single product being linked to multiple sections. To ensure each product responds to a unique URL, configure canonical link support. Section search is performed by the property value name, which is equivalent to the name of the created or edited section.

This module is built using the D7 API. Minimum technical requirements for version 14.0 and above (with D7 kernel): PHP version 5.3 or higher, MySQL version 5 or higher.

For the Scoder module to function correctly, all latest updates for 1C-Bitrix components must be installed on the site. Before use, verify that the test in Settings → Tools → System Check returns no errors.
