The functionality includes automatic conversion of all images to WebP, applying an arbitrary number of watermarks, and the ability to edit or remove them at any time. The system supports sending images to external resources both with and without watermarks. Processing occurs in real-time without requiring code changes.
Supported formats include JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and WebP. A visual editor with extensive parameters for customizing the watermark appearance is available. Built-in support for lossless optimization is provided when corresponding server software is present. Watermark settings can be configured for each information block, information block section, forum, media library collection, and Highload block.
The module processes images across all installed site components, including non-standard ones. Configuration allows setting restrictions based on domain, file type, image dimensions, and object creation date.
Watermark settings include type selection: text or image. Placement options cover full surface tiling, staggered arrangement with offset, or random positioning on each file. Transparency controls visibility: higher values make the watermark less distinct. The rotation parameter turns the mark around its center. Scaling automatically adjusts the watermark size to match the image dimensions; a zero value applies the original file size or font size without modification.
Supported image formats for the watermark are JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and WebP.
The module adds text watermarks to images, optimizes them, and converts them to WebP format. Watermark settings include text (supporting multiple lines), color, and font (custom TTF files can be uploaded). Font size works only when the scaling function is disabled. Text density is controlled by alignment, line spacing, and invisible edge margins. Outline settings allow configuring color and thickness, with thickness automatically scaling alongside the watermark size. Image optimization includes a quality compression setting; 85% is recommended as the optimal value to balance visual fidelity with reduced file weight and faster site loading.
The module provides image scaling, limits maximum dimensions, and converts images to WebP format. If source files have excessive dimensions, they are proportionally resized to the specified parameters, reducing file weight and improving page load speed. Scaling settings are ignored for images already processed by CFile::ResizeImageGet or CRamWatermark::resize functions.
Maximum width and height parameters define the upper limits for the processed image. The output file will not exceed the specified values in either dimension.
Configuring objects and fields
Configuration is performed step-by-step: starting from the module selection and proceeding to child objects and specific elements. For sections and items in information blocks, as well as items in Highload blocks, you can select specific fields for processing, such as the detailed image or the MORE_PHOTO property.
To process catalog product images, the typical path is: Information blocks → Product catalog → Items. If an information block for trade offers exists, it must also be included in the processing list.
Additional limitations
The module allows configuring watermark application to images based on usage context. You can select specific sites where the watermark must be displayed and specify file types subject to processing. Processing is limited by image size: if parameters do not match, the file is skipped unchanged, which is useful for excluding thumbnails. Filtering by creation date is also available to avoid reprocessing already watermarked images.
Developers have access to the \CRamWatermark::resize($params) method. It scales the image to specified dimensions and applies a watermark according to its parameters. The method accepts a parameter array and returns an array with the result. Example task: proportionally resize an image to 250x150 pixels and protect it with a watermark.

1. On-the-fly processing function:
1.1. The file name will be changed if the "Save original names of uploaded files" checkbox is not selected in the Main module settings.

2. For properties of type "File", it is no longer necessary to specify "Uploadable file types". Now any such property will be displayed in the watermark settings.
