This module for 1C-Bitrix Site Management automatically tracks all changes to information block elements, recording who, when, and exactly what was modified.
The tool addresses version control needs for teams consisting of editors, managers, and administrators. It identifies who and when a specific product, news item, or section was modified, along with the exact data affected. Configuration is required only upon installation; the module immediately monitors all information blocks on the site without additional setup.
After installation, the section is available in the administrative panel under: Services → Element Change Log.
Each log entry includes:
Date and time of the event
User who made the changes (login is clickable, linking directly to the user's edit page)
Operation type: add, update, or delete
Information block name
Name of the modified element (clickable, linking directly to the element's edit page)
Detailed description of the changes
The 'Change Description' section reveals the specific nature of the edits rather than merely stating that a change occurred.
The module records all operations on information block elements. When an element is created, all properties with assigned values are logged. When an element is modified, changes are displayed line by line in the format «was → is now». When an element is deleted, the deletion fact is recorded along with the element name and information block ID, even if the element no longer exists in the system.
The journal list supports filtering by information block ID, user login, and action type. Sorting is performed by clicking on column headers.
Deletion of journal entries is available only to users with full module access. Entries can be removed individually or in groups by selecting them with checkboxes and choosing «Delete selected».
Module settings are accessed via the gear icon in the administrator module list. The «Store journal entries, days» parameter defines the retention period. If a number is specified, entries older than that period are automatically deleted once daily. A value of 0 means entries are stored indefinitely.
This setting allows excluding specific users from the change history log. You can select one or more administrators whose actions will not be recorded. This is useful, for example, when a technical administrator regularly updates content via a service script and such actions do not require tracking.
Important: The log records changes made through standard methods—via the element editing form in the administrative panel or through the CIBlockElement::Add/Update API call. If element property values are changed via a special call that bypasses the standard element update mechanism, such changes will not appear in the log. This is a feature of the internal structure of information blocks, not a limitation of the module.
