GOST R 52872-2019 contains nearly 150 requirements, ranging from accessibility levels (A, AA, AAA) to bans on frames and contrast rules. The 'Widget for the Visually Impaired' addresses part of these requirements, while the remainder must be implemented by the website developers.
The widget gives users control over the appearance and perception of the site:
Change fonts and colors: 12+ font sizes, 5 ready-made color schemes, and text settings including style, kerning, and line spacing.
Listen to the site: A built-in speech synthesizer reads any text with adjustable volume and speed.
Remove distractions: The ability to disable images for better concentration.
Technically, this is implemented simply: upon user request, the widget connects additional style schemes, thereby changing the visual representation of the content. Users configure the site themselves.
