What this solution does
Bussol RegionsPro is a comprehensive platform for managing multi-regional functionality of online stores built on 1C-Bitrix. The solution enables flexible configuration of prices, warehouse stock levels, delivery terms, payment methods, contact details, manager assignments, discount systems, and SEO optimization based on the visitor's region.
The module goes beyond simple city selection by featuring a built-in rule constructor. This tool allows for the creation of complex commercial logic that accounts for the region or group of regions, specific user, product, catalog section, brand, cart total, day of the week, time of day, and page URL. After a single setup, the system automatically applies the necessary conditions within the catalog, product cards, shopping cart, and checkout process.
Bussol RegionsPro replaces numerous scattered template modifications with a single central management hub. Key capabilities include automatic detection of the visitor's region, prompting the user to confirm the detected city, and supporting manual region selection. The platform operates effectively on a single domain, subdomains, separate domains, or via regional URLs. It supports the assignment of regional price types and filters the display to show only relevant warehouses and stock levels.
The Bussol RegionsPro module enables multiregional configuration of an online store. It allows restricting available delivery methods and payment systems, assigning managers based on region, setting regional discounts and markups, and changing contact details such as phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and physical addresses. The functionality includes filtering products and catalog sections by region, creating regional SEO profiles, managing robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and canonical tags, saving the region in the order, and calculating delivery costs directly within the product card. Developers can access regional information via PHP API, HTTP API, and module events.
Visual Regional Rules Builder
The core feature of RegionsPro is the Rule Engine, which manages business logic without requiring numerous fragmented customizations. Rules execute automatically based on defined conditions. Conditions can target the region and audience: specific site, region, region code, region group, or user group. Product-based conditions include specific items, catalog sections, and brands. Order and context conditions cover cart total, day of the week, time, and page URL.
A single rule supports AND / OR logic, allows setting rule priorities, and can stop further processing once a matching rule is triggered. The outcome of a rule can include changes to available price types.
The RegionsPro module by BUSSOL enables centralized management of multi-regional settings for an online store. It allows changing the list of available warehouses, restricting delivery services and payment methods, assigning a specific manager to orders, and applying percentage-based or fixed discounts and markups. The module also supports updating contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses for specific user groups.
For instance, a specific region group can be configured to use a regional price type, display goods only from two selected warehouses, offer free shipping for cart totals of 30,000 rubles or more, and automatically assign the order to a designated manager. Another region group can utilize different warehouses, delivery options, and markups. All these parameters are configured centrally.
Region Groups and Settings Inheritance
When a website serves dozens or hundreds of regions, configuring each city individually is inefficient. RegionsPro allows combining regions into hierarchical groups to apply common settings to the entire branch at once. An example structure is: Russia → Central Region → Moscow Oblast → Moscow. Base settings are defined for the parent group and inherited by child elements. Specific values can be overridden at lower levels of the hierarchy as needed.
The following parameters support inheritance:
- price types;
- warehouses;
- delivery services;
- payment systems;
- manager;
- discounts;
- markups;
- address.
The RegionsPro module implements a clear hierarchical priority for settings: specific region, then child group, then parent group. This approach significantly reduces the number of duplicate settings and simplifies the maintenance of large multi-regional projects.
Regional Prices, Discounts, and Markups
The module allows displaying different commercial conditions to buyers depending on their region. RegionsPro supports assigning one or more price types per region and restricts price calculation to the current region. It handles percentage discounts, absolute discounts, percentage markups, and absolute markups. Additional condition changes are managed via the Rule Engine.
The module integrates with the standard catalog mechanism of 1C-Bitrix and can adjust the final price after the standard optimal price calculation.
Regional Warehouses and Stock
For each region or group of regions, available warehouses can be defined. Visitors see the assortment and availability according to their regional configuration. This is convenient for companies with regional warehouses, distribution centers, branches, dealer networks, or different service zones.
Warehouses can be assigned directly to a region, inherited from a group, or modified by RegionsPro rules.
Regional delivery and payment configuration
Custom lists of delivery services and payment systems can be defined for each region. The RegionsPro module goes beyond simply hiding unavailable options visually. All regional restrictions are re-verified on the server side immediately before order saving. This enables complex scenarios, such as: a courier service available only in specific cities; a logistics company operating in a subset of regions; a payment method blocked for a particular territory; or a delivery set that depends simultaneously on the region, the product, or the cart total.
Delivery calculation in the product card
Buyers can view available delivery options before proceeding to the cart. Calculations are performed using the standard sale mechanism while taking the current region into account. This allows the customer to see delivery terms in advance, reducing surprises during the checkout process.
Automatic manager assignment
You can assign a responsible manager to a specific region or group of regions. When an order is created, RegionsPro can automatically link it to the corresponding regional manager. Additionally, manager selection can be determined by defined rules.
The RegionsPro module enables flexible order distribution based on various criteria: federal districts, individual cities, customer groups, product categories, or any other conditions defined via the Rule Engine.
Managing a multi-regional website requires more than simply replacing the city name in the page title. RegionsPro includes a dedicated SEO center that allows creating SEO profiles for all regions, groups of regions, or specific locations. Each profile supports configuration of TITLE, H1, DESCRIPTION, ROBOTS, CANONICAL, and SEO text. The system supports regional markers #REGION_*#, which are automatically replaced with data from the current region. This allows a single SEO configuration to be applied across many cities, automatically inserting names, contact details, and other regional values. Specific region settings take precedence over general ones.
RegionsPro provides regional management of technical SEO files, including robots.txt and sitemap.xml. This capability is essential for projects utilizing separate domains, subdomains, regional URLs, or a large number of landing pages.
The RegionsPro module enables centralized management of a site's regional SEO structure without the need to create separate solutions for each city.
The GeoIP Pro feature automatically determines a visitor's location and maps it to the corresponding site region. It supports integration with the standard 1C-Bitrix GeoIP infrastructure, including GeoIP2, Sypex Geo, Main\Service\GeoIp, and Sale\Location\GeoIp. A built-in diagnostic panel allows administrators to view the actual IP address received by the site, the source of that IP, the list of IP candidates, the results of individual GeoIP processors, and the final determined region.
If the standard GeoIP tools fail to determine the region, RegionsPro uses external fallback providers. Supported services include IPWhoIs and IPAPI. The order of provider requests and network timeouts are configurable in the module settings. When an external service returns geographic coordinates, RegionsPro matches them to the nearest configured region. This approach reduces dependency on the language and spelling variations of city names in external service data.
The module also supports region determination via browser GPS coordinates.
If region detection via IP address fails, RegionsPro can utilize the browser's HTML5 Geolocation API. The geolocation request is triggered only after the user grants explicit permission. The obtained coordinates are used to locate the nearest configured region. User coordinates are not stored in the database; only the identifier of the found region is saved in the session.
The module includes a dedicated region selection component: bussol:regions.selector. This component does not require jQuery and is not tied to specific site templates or pre-built solutions. Three interface modes are available:
DROPDOWN: A compact dropdown list of regions.
COLUMNS: A modal window with sequential selection: district → region → city. Each column features independent scrolling and includes a search function.
SEARCH: A compact quick-search window for cities or regions. Search results display the full path, for example: Bryansk, Bryansk Oblast, Central Federal District.
On the first visit, RegionsPro may automatically determine the location and prompt the visitor to confirm it. Example prompt: Your city is Moscow?
Users can accept the automatically detected region or select a different one. The RegionsPro module distinguishes between four states: automatic detection, user confirmation, manual selection, and closing the offer. This approach respects the visitor's personal choice and avoids imposing a region automatically.
The RegionsPro module is designed for various multi-regional site architectures. It supports scenarios with a single domain where the region is stored in user preferences; subdomains such as moscow.example.ru or kazan.example.ru; separate domains like example-msk.ru or example-kazan.ru; and region placement within the URL path, for example example.ru/moscow/catalog/. The system also handles multi-language and multi-site structures, including paths like example.ru/ru/moscow/ or example.ru/kz/almaty/.
RegionsPro supports 1C-Bitrix configurations with multiple sites, including sites hosted in subdirectories of a single domain. For each site, you can independently configure regional activity, URL format, component selection settings, cookies, and regional configuration.
Catalog filtering by the current region is supported to limit content display.
The RegionsPro module by BUSSOL implements a multi-regional commercial platform for managing prices, warehouses, SEO, and GeoIP. It links infoblock items to the LINK_REGION field and sections to the UF_REGION custom field. This enables the creation of regional assortments and the hiding of products or categories unavailable to a visitor in their region.
During checkout, the system saves regional context in order service properties: region ID, region name, domain, location ID, and site. Administrators can view the order region and modify it via the administrative panel. Regional logic is re-verified at checkout to ensure commercial restrictions do not rely solely on the client-side of the site.
RegionsPro includes a Region Simulator for debugging complex scenarios. It allows testing a selected scenario without modifying cookies or switching the user's actual region. The simulator displays the groups the region belongs to, sources of inherited settings, a list of checked rules, conditions for each rule, which rules were triggered, and the final commercial and SEO profiles.
The context used by the Rule Engine is particularly effective when processing large numbers of regions and complex combinations of conditions.
Developer API
The RegionsPro module provides a public PHP API that allows data retrieval beyond the administrative interface. It enables fetching information about the current region, city, regional fields, price types, warehouses, delivery options, payment systems, manager, region groups, triggered rules, SEO profile, GeoIP results, and region confirmation status. The module also supports safe programmatic rule simulation and programmatic region selection.
HTTP API
An HTTP API version 1 is available for AJAX integrations. Through this interface, users can retrieve the current region, a list of all regions, details of a specific region, GeoIP results, confirmation status, and change the selected region. Requests that modify state are executed via POST and require a valid Bitrix session.
Events for Integrations
Developers can hook into key stages of the module's operation using events. Available triggers include actions before region determination, after GeoIP determination, upon region change, and after the detected region is confirmed.
After a regional order is created, the system enables integration of RegionsPro with CRM, ERP, external services, custom modules, and the project's business logic.
Compatibility with existing projects
To ensure a smooth transition from legacy regional implementations, compatible mechanisms are preserved: the CBussolRegionality facade, the global variable $arRegion, regional filters, and legacy events. This allows phased deployment of RegionsPro without rewriting the entire project at once.
Composite mode and personal region
The region selection component accounts for the specifics of the 1C-Bitrix composite mode. A user's personal selection and the GeoIP result are not retrieved from a saved static HTML page copy. The regional part of the component operates via a dynamic frame, while the GeoIP check is performed via a separate AJAX request. This approach reduces the risk of a visitor receiving regional data belonging to another user from the composite cache.
Suitable projects
RegionsPro is designed for online stores selling across Russia that require different prices, warehouses, delivery options, and managers for various cities and regions. It is also suitable for federal companies.
A unified website for branches and representative offices featuring local contact details and individual commercial terms.
For distributors and manufacturers: management of regional warehouses, dealer tariffs, product assortment, and service zones.
For B2B projects: flexible configuration of price types and sales scenarios based on region and customer category.
For SEO projects covering numerous cities: automatic generation of regional meta tags (TITLE, H1, DESCRIPTION), canonical links, SEO texts, as well as robots.txt and sitemap.xml files.
For projects with complex business logic: terms are determined by a combination of city, user profile, product, brand, cart contents, time of day, and other parameters.
Example of a complex scenario implementation
Consider an online store operating throughout Russia.
For Moscow:
- Moscow-based warehouses are utilized;
- a specific price type is displayed;
- a proprietary courier service is connected;
- a Moscow-based manager is assigned.
For other cities in the Central Federal District:
- a regional warehouse is used;
- a different price type is shown;
- delivery via transport companies is enabled.
For wholesale buyers additionally:
- special prices are applied;
- a discount is automatically activated when the order amount exceeds a specified threshold;
- a dedicated warehouse is allocated for specific brands.
Standard implementations of multi-regional logic require numerous scattered modifications across the catalog, shopping cart, and checkout process. Bussol RegionsPro centralizes this entire logic through regional groups and a visual rule builder.
The key advantage of RegionsPro is that it manages not just the city selected by a visitor, but the complete behavior of the online store within a specific region. The region becomes an integral part of the project's business logic, defining the chain: region, rules, prices, warehouses, delivery, payment, manager, SEO, and order creation. Instead of a set of scattered fixes, you receive a single control center.
Version 1.15 expands the core multi-regional functionality with tools designed for large and complex projects. It includes the Rule Engine, a visual builder for commercial rules. Regional groups are implemented with support for hierarchy and setting inheritance. An SEO Center is added for centralized management of SEO profiles for regions and groups. A simulator is introduced to diagnose inheritance and rule triggering without changing the user's actual region. The GeoIP Pro feature provides additional GeoIP providers and fallback region detection via browser GPS.
