What this solution does
The Seo2You:SeoMeta module enables management of meta tags, H1 headers, canonical addresses, and SEO texts on any website page within a minute without developer involvement. It requires PHP 8.2 or higher. The functionality binds metadata to specific addresses, including static pages, sections, infoblock elements, filter results, or landing pages with GET parameters. If a rule exists for a given address, the page will display your specific values even if the standard component attempts to insert its own data.
The module provides full control over page metadata. Users can configure the Title for the browser tab and search snippet, as well as Description and Keywords for content and keywords. The H1 header on the page is set independently of the component output. Robots directives such as index/follow, noindex, and others are available for specific addresses to manage indexing. The canonical address is enabled by activating the corresponding rule.
The module includes three SEO texts managed via a visual editor. Special markers, denoted as seo_text1, seo_text2, and seo_text3, are placed in the template to designate content areas. Texts are filled through the administrative panel without modifying the layout. There is no 65,000 character limit for long texts.
Import and export operations support csv, xls, and xlsx formats. A step-by-step wizard with a progress bar handles the process, allowing files with tens of thousands of rows to be processed without exceeding the script execution time limit.
The SEO-meta module automatically detects file encoding (including CP-1251 from Windows) and allows manual correction with live preview. Columns are matched to fields automatically based on the header row, with an option for manual adjustment. Duplicate handling and the default site selection are configured separately. All errors are logged in a dedicated file showing the specific row number and the reason for failure. The exported file can be re-imported without any modifications, supporting a seamless workflow: export, edit by an SEO specialist in Excel, and re-import. Xls and xlsx import requires the XMLReader extension.
The module handles GET parameters and UTM tags. The default list of ignored parameters with masks includes utm_*, gclid, yclid, fbclid, _openstat, and roistat, ensuring that advertising traffic does not disrupt rule matching. Each rule has a separate Apply with GET parameters option. When enabled, the rule applies to all filter variants; when disabled, meta tags apply only to specific parameters such as ?sort=price. In case of conflicts between such rules, the module automatically resolves them by prioritizing exact matches.
The module supports multi-site and multi-regional configurations. Rules are bound to a specific site, while the domain name is stored in a separate field. If multiple domains point to the same site, unique meta-data can be configured for each domain; switching modes does not invalidate existing rules.
The page number postfix feature addresses the issue of duplicate content in search engine indexes, which occurs when the second and third listing pages share the same title as the first. By enabling this option and setting a template such as «— Page #PAGE#», automatic numbering is applied across the entire site, including pages where the module does not manage meta-tags.
Composite site support is provided. Meta-data is written to the composite's static content. When a rule is saved, deleted, or disabled, the static content for the corresponding address is updated immediately. This ensures that search robots and SEO checkers do not continue to see outdated data.
Access rights are managed by user groups with three levels: no access, view-only, and full access. This allows an SEO contractor to be granted permissions for viewing and exporting data without access to editing functions.
A global switch is available to disable all meta-data substitution with a single checkbox in the settings. This allows the module to be excluded as a potential cause of site issues within seconds, eliminating the need for lengthy troubleshooting.
When needed, General iT can implement “«SEO-meta» — meta tags, H1, canonical address and SEO texts for website pages”, configure the module and verify it against the current website setup.
