The module integrates with the system search and scans files during site re-indexing. Supported formats include PDF, Microsoft Word (.docx), Microsoft Excel (.xlsx), text files (.txt), and HTML files (.html, .htm).
Configuration is available for specific information blocks and File-type properties. Module settings allow limiting the maximum file size and the number of extracted characters to control server load.
The module's administrative interface provides tools for managing the file indexing process. It includes the ability to view the list of documents selected for indexing and to preview their content before adding it to the search index. A detailed log file is maintained to monitor the indexing process and diagnose potential issues.
