On October 23, 2026, Yandex Cloud announced the opening of a new location for resources previously hosted in the ru-central1-a zone. This is critical for website owners, online stores, and integrations whose virtual machines or databases relied on that zone. Access is provided in stages: before restoring live traffic, you must verify the provider's notification, the status of your resources, and the application launch procedure.

According to the official Yandex Cloud announcement, the new location in the console retains the name ru-central1-a. Restoring the platform's core capabilities does not mean automatically launching every client project. This is a continuation of recovery following the October incident, not a report of a new outage on October 24.

What Has Been Restored and What Remains Limited

The Yandex press service told PRAIM agency on October 23 that access has been restored to 90.47% of the data stored on the platform. Part of the data and related services has been moved to the new location. This figure does not confirm the availability of a specific website and does not mean the remaining data is lost.

The provider warns that access to the new zone will open over the coming days, with access notifications sent via email. Initial capacity is limited, so we recommend launching business-critical services first.

Virtual machines in the console will remain stopped; activation is controlled by the client. Managed database clusters that previously operated only in this zone are also stopped by default. Dedicated Host is currently unavailable; the stated timeline for its addition is next week, which reflects the provider's plan rather than a completed restoration.

How to Safely Bring Your Site Back Online

The resource recovery recommendations describe limitations of individual services and actions for load balancers. The page was updated on October 23 at 17:41 MSK. Administrators should apply instructions specifically for the service in use and verify them before starting work.

  • Verify access acquisition, available quotas, and the status of required machines and databases. A single visible record in the console does not confirm that all dependencies are ready.
  • Coordinate the startup sequence: database, application, background processors, and integrations. Before making changes, preserve available data and configuration.
  • Verify routing and load balancers. According to the provider's message, the previous Cloud Router configuration in the new zone has been deactivated; it cannot be assumed to be restored automatically.
  • Return user traffic only after verifying login, cart, checkout, email, and external system exchanges. For accumulated tasks, explicitly prevent duplicate order creation or duplicate fund deductions.

The sequence of application checks is an editorial recommendation. For example, an accessible homepage does not prove that order recording in the database or transmission to 1C is working. If the project was temporarily served from another infrastructure, determine the current data copy and coordinate synchronization with the administrator before switching.

This news pertains to Yandex Cloud and the specified zone. It does not allow conclusions about the full restoration of Yandex Mail and Yandex Metrica services or all Yandex services. The status of a specific project must be determined separately.

Information verified on October 24, 2026, at 12:12 MSK. The basis is a Yandex Cloud announcement from October 23, the provider's recommendations, and a statement from its press service to PRAIM agency. Deadlines for remaining restrictions may be clarified.
